Lego's Star Wars set, Count Dooku's Solar Sailer, is another exclusive set that is only available at selected stores and Lego Shop At Home online. With 385 pieces and priced at it is one of hte more expensive sets released when looking at price per piece ratio but looking past that quibble the set itself is quite a good design and comes with two separate vehicles and four rare minifigures.

Count Dooku's Solar Sailer was a gift from Geonosis' leader Poggle the Lesser and enabled Dooku to escape from Geonosis after defeating Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker in lightsaber battle, as featured in Star wars Episode Two Attack Of The Clones. It is an inventive design that uses sails to harness a sun's solar rays and create energy to power the vehicle. Lego's representation of the Solar Sailer is a rather strange recreation of a rather unusual vehicle- there are no actual sails on the Lego version, a strange omission given the ship's name.

The speeder included in the set is Lego's second version of Dooku's speeder, originally packaged in set 7103, Jedi Duel. The speeder can fit into the back of the Solar Sailer, even with a figure on board and the colors used are more screen-accurate. The bubble cockpit can open and the driver figure sits inside, the ship also has flick fire missiles and 4 moveable wings. The "sail" in question would normally sit out the front of the ship and while it would have been difficult to replicate could have been included given the sets high price.

The ship measures 11 inches (27cm) long and up to 16 inches (40cm) wide with wings extended, while the minifigures include Count Dooku, FA-4 pilot droid, 2 MagnaGuard droids. Overall a rather unusual set that may only appeal to completists of the line.

If you are a collector of StarWars toys, a parent looking for a perfect gift for your children, or just a Star Wars movie fan who wants to decorate his desk with a cool action figure or statue of your favorite Star Wars character, you might be interested in the most recent or upcoming releases of new Star Wars toys, figures, vehicle or other collectible items.

As an avid collector, I'm constantly looking for new interesting items, so I'd like to share some of my latest discoveries with you.

New Clone Star Wars figures and vehicles by Hasbro

Since the Clone Wars TV series is quite popular among the fans, so are the related Clone Wars toys. So what can we expect in near future?

First of all, there are some really cool new 3 3/4-inch scale vehicle packs (wave 6) scheduled to be released before the end of 2009. They include some really nice pieces like General Grievous Starfighter, AAT Trade Federation Tank, Obi-Wan's Delta 2 Starfighter, Darth Vader's TIE Fighter and others. If you buy them as gifts for your children, they will sure like the special action features, like firing rockets etc.

Later on, in January 2010, there should be a new release of Deluxe 3 3/4-inch scale Star Wars figurines sets (action figure + matching vehicle). You can look forward to Anakin Skywalker Desert Sport Skiff, Clone Commander Cody with BARC Speeder and my favorite Clone Trooper Scout with AT-RT Vehicle, to name just a few.

New LEGO Star Wars Toys

The LEGO construction sets are definitely among the most popular toys so every new release is eagerly awaited by the movie fans and especially by their children. The most recent additions include LEGO 8036 Separatists Shuttle (with 5 really cool mini figures), LEGO 8038 Endor Battle Playset (with opening bunker, walking AT-ST, 12 figures, and more) and LEGO Clone Walker and Assassin Droid Set including bonus figures in each box.

Of course, there are many companies constantly releasing new StarWars figures and toys, so I just picked the ones I find most interesting at the moment. I'm also looking on other types of Star wars merchandise, like lightsabers, blasters, helmets and other replicas, but I think these specific items deserve a separate article, which will hopefully be published very soon.

Star Wars LEGO Set 10179, The Millennium Falcon, is part of LEGO's Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) that has wowed fans with large models, attention to detail and high collectability. The Millennium Falcon is not only the largest of these sets ever released it is the largest LEGO set ever, with over 5000 pieces. For Star Wars fans there is the added bonus that this ship is built to minifigure scale. So that means that the minifigures that come with the set are in correct size proportion to the huge ship that transports them across the galaxy.

The minifigures are probably the least interesting part of the set, given the appeal of the ship, but it is nice that LEGO sought to include minifigures with the set as previous UCS releases have not included any figures. There are five figures, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Obi wan Kenobi and Chewbacca all in Episode Four, A New Hope garb. It is a good selection of figures that could have been improved by adding the final two characters that travelled with this crew on their travels, the two droids R2-D2 and C3PO.

The Millennium Falcon ship is a Corellian Engineering Corporation YT-1300 freighter and was won by the smuggler Han Solo in a game of Sabacc. The person he won the ship off was none other than Lando Calrissian. The LEGO model itself is obviously very big and would warrant a significant display area if it is to be put on show. The ship is over 33" long, 22" wide and 8" tall (84cm long x 56cm wide x 21cm tall). And given the piece count this is not the kind of set that you will be assembling very often, so defiantly decide where it is going to go before you start building!

The detail on the UCS model is beautiful and the attention given to even the smallest surface extends all over the ship. A large variety of small pieces are applied to the top surface to give it the realistic look. Given all the attention paid to the outside it is a shame that there is almost zero playability inside the ship.

Two people can sit side by side with another two people in a row behind them. There is a boarding ramp underneath and a gunner chair at the top. That is about it. Granted, much of the inner space is taken up with construction pieces to keep this large and wide set together but it would have been nice to see a dejarik table or some sleeping quarters etc. But this is a minor quibble.

The set comes with a large spiral bound instruction book and will take some hours to build. It also features a display card with detailed ship specifications of the ship to accentuate the display. Overall it is a highly recommended for those with the money to afford the 9 model and the space to store it.

Star Wars LEGOs are becoming increasingly popular with the continued success of the Star Wars series.  The LEGO group has done a fantastic job of capitalizing on this success by feeding the LEGO community a constant supply of new Star Wars themed sets.

Starwars LEGO Sets

The LEGO Group has released Starwars themed LEGO sets for the following movies:
Episode I: The Phantom Menace Lego Sets Episode II: Attack Of The Clones Lego Sets Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith Lego Sets Episode IV: A New Hope Lego Sets Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back Lego Sets Episode VI: Return of the Jedi Lego SetsEach of the Starwars themed sets above has it's own set of LEGOs that compliment that particular movie.  These sets also include highly collectible Star Wars LEGO minifugures (also known as minifigs.)  LEGO minifigs are sought after by many LEGO enthusiasts.

For each of the movies listed above, we will list all of the LEGO play sets that were released.

Episode I: The Phantom Menace Lego Sets

Episode II: Attack Of The Clones Lego Sets

This is the second movie released for the Pre-quel trilogy of Starwars films.  The following sets were released by LEGO to compliment scenes from Episode II:

This is the third movie released for the Pre-quels.  LEGO released these sets to compliment scenes from the film:

The now legendary original Star Wars movie, A New Hope basically kicked it all off.  This series offers quite a few large (and therefore expensive) sets.

LEGO 7675 Star Wars AT-TE Walker is available now, and an awesome entry into the world of LEGO Star Wars. The packaging reads that it is intended for ages 9 - 14, but Star Wars collectors of all ages will love this set. It contains 799 pieces, and comes with mini-figures and some great extras.

Mini figures in this set are impressive, with a great array of characters. You will get Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka, Captain Rex, Clone Trooper and Battle Droid mini figures, plus Rotta the Hutt in this set. The Battle Droid in this set is familiar to LEGO Star Wars enthusiasts, and does not carry a gun. The Anakin is also a figure that is seen elsewhere in the LEGO Star Wars universe, so no surprises with that figure. Captain Rex comes in this set, looking great with admirable detail. The STAP vehicle comes in this set to accompany your Battle Droid. The newly-designed wings and four blasters make this STAP vehicle a step up from previous versions.

Open up the hatch at the back of the vehicle, where you'll find a compartment for four of your mini figures and four weapons. The other hatch under the AT-TE gun has open space as well, with a container for whatever you want to put there. You'll find the driver's chair in the front of the vehicle, on a sliding mechanism that works very well.

The front of the AT-TE Walker has four swivel guns, giving this unit some great firepower. The back has two swivel guns as well, which compounds the heavy firepower. A rubber band mechanism on the legs of this AT-TE have a great snap-back with pulled forward. The piece itself is extremely sturdy, and will stand up to the play you have planned for it.

At the front there is a button that, if pushed, shoots out a rather large missile. You get two of these, only adding to the massive firepower you get with the AT-TE Walker. The Clone Trooper has a place to sit on the top main gun on the AT-TE. The gun has a 360 degree range all the way around, and a 45 degree range up and down.

The AT-TE six-legged walker is faithful to the source material, and looks straight out of the Clone Wars series. Measuring 15.5" (39cm) wide and 8" (20cm) high, this is a piece you're really going to get some fun out of.

The series is Lego Star Wars 8039 Republic Attack Cruiser Venator, a model of the Imperial Star Destroyer precursor of impressive in a prominent place in the opening moments of Star Wars A New Hope present. This ship was designed as a personal pride Chancellor Palpatine during the Clone Wars and the opening salvo of Episode Three Revenge of the Sith important when Anakin and Obi-Wan crash of a Venator-land part of Coruscant.

The Venator is not to Lego minifigTo replicate scale, but does a good job designing the ship. It is 20 inches (50.8 cm) long, 12 inches (30.5 cm) wide and 7 inches (17.8 cm) tall, which makes it a pretty impressive model. For more game play designed device has a handle on top that are used to lift the vehicle safely, without fear of withdrawal may be flat. It 'very effective supplement and fans, and will no doubt complain that it reduces the amount of a "toy" pull the handle and beautiful does little toinfluence the overall impression of the set.

The Venator is a clone of a clone pilot and gunner, both appeared in the preceding sentences. The new numbers for this set includes two Senate Commandos. The bodies of these figures have the same body as a regular clone, only painted white instead of blue and a new helmet design to reflect the different aspect of this elite guard of the Galactic Senate. The final number is Chancellor Palpatine minifig exclusive, and this number representsBefore Palpatine himself as the Sith Lord.

There are a number of playable on the ship also has an opening in the bow, where the headquarters of Palpatine. Inside there is a chair and table set up with a couple of Palpatine brand flags and brown carpets. It seems close, but it is obvious that Lego has done this to the size of the entire set still maintain the slim shape of the ship to decrease. On the back is a removable control module and the openingProtect areas of the page. The weapons are missiles and bombs with different mechanisms strips on the floor, away and can be recharged.

Overall, the ship is beautiful reproduction of the original, immediately recognizable and very playable. Unlike previous models of this size, like the Star Destroyer 6211, the children can play with the Venator with extendable handle and do not hesitate it crumble. The additional exclusive minifigures make this series a must before buyingIt sells and requires high prices on the secondary market.
